Part of the Writing the Senses series which explores a different type of sensory imagery in each workshop. This prompt uses an extract from Susan Hill's novel I'm the King of the Castle to demonstrate how evocative tactile (touch) imagery can be in literature. Students will then write a descriptive paragraph using their own tactile imagery and experiment with creating a distinct mood and atmosphere.
